IS THIS WHAT YOU NEED?
Removing a wall or widening an opening may affect the way the building is supported. Structural advice establishes the required solution.
Beams, columns, bearings and their connections need to be coordinated with access, services and finishes.
WHAT WE CAN COVER
Understand the proposed change and the engineer’s design, including the supports and construction details needed.
Plan access, protection and the temporary support arrangements required before the affected structure is altered.
Carry out the defined alterations and install structural members to the approved design and relevant site requirements.
Coordinate making good and the specified protection to new steelwork or affected fire-resistant construction.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Share architectural drawings and structural calculations if you have them. We review site access and the construction requirements before quoting. Structural design and the necessary approvals must be established before the relevant work begins; photographs alone cannot confirm that a wall is safe to remove.
YOUR QUESTIONS
Photographs alone are not a reliable basis for structural decisions. Relevant inspection and structural advice may be required before work is defined.
We can discuss RSJ and steelwork installation as part of your alterations. The work needs to follow the appropriate structural design and support requirements.
Drawings, structural information, building location, photographs and details of the proposed change are useful for an initial discussion.
